Astrid "Star" Dalley with student Allison Osterman

Astrid Dalley (Trainer)

Astrid or "Star" as we know her started riding at age 10 in Michigan under the tutelage of Michael Mathews, an FEI judge from Austria.  Star quickly moved up the ranks in the big shows doing the junior jumpers and the Medal Maclay classes.  Having shown in large shows such as the Sunshine Circuit in Florida, I Love NY, Detriot/Motor City, she then went on to get a "real job".  After moving to Maryland her love of horses rekindled, coaching riders to wins locally in the HCHS circuit for many years up to qualifying for Washington International.

Barn Manager: Cate Cohen

Cate is a lifelong horsewoman, after a brief romance with dinosaurs that ended at age 5. She competed as a Junior in the local & rated Hunters, then developed an interest in Eventing & Dressage while still a Young Rider. Her early interest in horse care led her to attend Lake Erie College; where she majored in Equine Teacher/ Trainer and Facility Management. Cate was a working student for Kathy Henry of Mallard Cove Farm in Montville, OH,  where she learned to work with stallions and upper level performance horses. In 1999 she groomed on the "A" circuit for Jumper rider Joyce Hamilton Park in West Palm Beach and in Ohio. After returning to the Washington D.C. area she groomed for upper level event rider Denise Rath. Cate is currently training with Kate Chadderton and is focused on qualifying for the Area 2 Training Level 3 Day Event with her Trakhener gelding  Matao.
